Managing customer and vendor statuses

This topic describes how to create status codes for customers and vendors. You can create any number of status codes. For example:

  • Active: current customers
  • Inactive: customers who have not done any business within the last 365 days
  • Restricted: former customers that you do not want to do any more business with

Follow these steps to create and specify a status code for a customer or vendor:

  1. Open the Customer Statuses form.or Vendor Statuses form.
  2. Create a new record.
  3. Specify this information:
    Status
    Status codes must be a single letter or number.
    Description (optional)
    Enter a description of the status code.
    Active for Order Processing
    On the Customer Statuses form, specify whether customers with this status code can be added to new opportunities, estimates, quotes, customer orders, or job orders.
    On the Vendor Statuses form, specify whether vendors with this status code can be added to new RFQs, purchase order requisitions, or purchase orders.
    For customers and vendors who are not active for order processing, the Show in Drop Down Lists and Active for Data Integration fields cannot be selected.
  4. Save the record.
  5. On the Customers, Multi-site Customers, Vendors, or Multi-site Vendors form, specify a Status code.
