Step 2: modify dimension

New source package can be checked in connected networks.

  1. Navigate to dimension space.
  2. Choose Modeler > Connect > open dropdown > networks.
The new dimension is a script source and usually based on sources from the package. Dimension names begin with ‘Dim’ and columns selected by demanded.
If the source table is imported from Data Lake:
    • Sources are from data warehouse and named in this manner: [Level(Src Source table name.Src Source table name)].
    • The source needs add join [Level(Src BI link site info.Src BI link site info)] if you have multi-site data.
Note: If there are many logics in your dimension, it may not run well in one script source. Consider adding ‘View ‘script source as a middle script source.
    • Add hierarchy and grain. The hierarchy level key always is the primary key of the dimension, and the hierarchy name is the same as the dimension name.
    • Publish changes and ensure there are no errors.
    • If the dimension is for finance, add the source to the finance dimension package. If the dimension is for sales, add the source to the sales dimension package.
