Assumptions

When using reports, assume:

  • Most financial reports are constructed based on account classes. Before using the financial reports, you must set correct account classes to the accounts.
  • Report currency is one of the domestic currencies set for sites.
  • The financial facts provide three types of exchange rate methods. The exchange rate methods are current exchange rate, period average exchange rate and period end exchange rate. When converting the domestic amount to report currency amount, Birstmultiplies the domestic amount by the exchange rate, then gets the report currency amounts. If there is no exchange rate, then 0 displays.
    • When you use the end balance sheet, use the end rate for the balance as of date period. For example, if the balance is as of December 2017, then use end rate of December 2017. If the balance is as of April 2018, then use end rate of April 2018. Calculation:
sum (domestic amount) * end rate of selected period
    • When you use the average per period income statements, use the period average exchange rate per period in report. Total columns or YTD columns should sum the converted period columns. Calculation:
sum (amount for the period * average rate per period)
    • When you use the end cashflow statement, use the end rate for each period within the report. Calculation:
sum (amount for each period * end rate per period)
    • When you use the end trial balance, all accounts should be exchanged using the end rate of the balance through the cutoff date of the report. Calculation:
sum (domestic amount) * end rate of selected period
  • For financial statements, Birst only provides fiscal period analysis dimension. The calendar time dimension is not supported.
  • Sites may report to an entity. An entity is a site that contains an instance of the application database. Site groups can combine sites performing related functions.
  • If you select a site that is an entity, then the financial statement shows values for the entity. If you select more than one site, then you see values for the site group.
