SMD (Standard Meta Data) Architecture
This section describes what Birst SMD (Standard Meta Data) content products are and how they are implemented and used.
A Birst Content product is a set of Birst objects that can be delivered/copied (provisioned) to a tenant. The description of the content product is defined by an Application Descriptor.
Each Content Product has two products defined in CSP; the Content Product that delivers Birst content to the customer to be used, and a Standard Meta Data (SMD) Content Product that is delivered to the customer as a read-only reference.
During Initial provisioning, the customer is entitled to both products. So, if a content product contains six spaces, two workflows and one shared connection, after entitling both products for a tenant, they end up with 12 spaces, four workflows and two shared connections.
