Nature of Transaction Code

Select or enter a 2-digit code for the nature of a transaction. This identifies the reason for the transaction and is used in the European Union (EU). For example, a Nature of Transaction Code (NOTC) of 20 could indicate returned goods and replacement goods, while 80 could indicate building materials and equipment. If you are in an EU country, refer to the EU/SSD requirements for your country.

NOTC codes are defined on the Nature of Transaction Codes form.

On forms relating to customer orders, this value defaults from the NOTC value entered on the Customers or Multi-Site Customers form.

On forms relating to purchase orders, this value defaults from the NOTC value entered on the Vendors form.

On some forms, this field is active only when Activate EU Reporting is selected on the General Parameters form.
