Importing Site Data by Remote API Calls

You can import specified site data by remote API calls.
Note: If errors occur during the migration, you can view, fix, and re-process them. For instructions, see Processing Site Data Migration Errors.
  1. If not done yet, add the new site on the Site Management form’s Add Site tab. For this migration, the new site should be the login site and have the same name as the remote site. For instructions, see Adding a site to an existing database.
  2. Log into the target site.
  3. Click the Site Management form’s Import tab, then specify this required information to connect to the remote services:
    Remote server
    Name of the remote server
    Configuration
Configuration name of the remote server
    Username
    User accessing the remote server
    Password
    User access password
  4. Do not select the Use Files To Import check box; this will disable the four remote server fields and the Connect button.
  5. Choose the Archive Logical Folder where all successfully processed files will be saved.
  6. Optionally, click the Files button linked to the logical folder to manage files: On the File Maintenance form, view the files in that folder and upload, download, or remove them from there before starting the import.
  7. Enter a Notification Email Address to send email after the import is done, either as successful or as failed.
  8. Select a data import action:
    Ignore Duplicate Data
Keep all duplicate data identical to the original data.
    Override Duplicate Data
Replace all duplicate data with the remote site data.
    Refresh All Data
Delete the login site data and add all remote site data into the login site.
  9. Click Connect to test if you can access and get the token from the remote services.
  10. Click Process to start the AES task. The site data from the remote server will be stored to the local site in XML format and released to the target table. The progress bar shows the percentage processed during the migration, and the grid shows the results.
