Resource Sequencing

This form allows you create short-term changes to the sequence of scheduled jobs and operations for the selected resource (after running the Scheduling activity), as well as freeze and unfreeze operations. If the resource hasn't been allocated to any loads, or if the Dispatch Interval value is set inappropriately, the message "Not one Sequence Exists" displays.

Note: This form does not replace the Scheduler. Although the form does perform a simple time-phased re-ordering of the operations, running the Scheduler is more comprehensive and inclusive.

When you select a resource, the grid will sort according to the sorting priorities defined on the Resource Sequencing Sort Setup form. Any changes you make will be reflected on the Resource Dispatch List report, but will be discarded the next time you run the Scheduling activity unless the operation was frozen.

If the Use Planning Output for Scheduling planning parameter is selected, this form displays the output from running APS Planning instead of the Scheduling activity.

You can also resequence work at the resource group level using the Resource Group Sequencing form. The results from any manual resequencing performed at the resource group level will be reflected on the Resource Sequencing form for the group's member resources. However, we suggest you use either the Resource Sequencing or the Resource Group Sequencing form to adjust your schedule.
