Job Materials

The Job Materials forms is used to manage information about the materials used in jobs.

Use this form to:

  • View and maintain information about the materials needed for a specific job operation on the Materials tab.
  • Enter cost information for materials for a specific job on the Costs tab. This cost information includes material, labor, fixed overhead, variable overhead, and outside costs. The system maintains an accumulated total for each of these cost components. Use this information to better analyze the cost breakdown of material to a job.
  • Maintain information about each job material (for reference purposes) on the References tab. You can enter one record for each quantity listed on the Job Material record. For example, if you enter a quantity of four, you enter four reference records.
Note: 
  • If the ECN Use for Job BOM/Routings field on the Inventory Parameters form is set to All, you cannot add or make changes to job materials.
  • If the job is a rework order, the job bill of material can have a material that is the same as the job's end item. This recursive BOM structure is allowed only for rework orders.
  • The Lots tab is enabled when the job has preassigned lot numbers.
