Delete BOM Components

Use this form to delete old items globally from a job's bill of material. If you delete the old items on a current bill of material, the system sets the old material's expiration date to the supplied effective date. Otherwise, the system physically deletes the record for jobs and estimates.

On the Items form, if you select the Revision Track check box, you cannot update the Revision field and you can delete items only by issuing an ECN.

Note: The system handles the Revision Track field on the General tab of the Items form according to the type specification you entered in the ECN Use for Standards field on the Inventory Parameters form.

If you run this utility at the PS release level (that is, the PS Release option is selected), deletions do not occur for PS releases that have had production schedule transactions posted against them. However, if you run the utility at the PS Item level, deletions of PS release components of PS items occur regardless of whether transactions have been posted against them.
