Batched Productions

Use this form to create user-defined batches, which include specific released jobs and production schedule releases. You can group released jobs and production schedule releases together in a batch for processing.

When you save a batched production, these things occur:

  • The system verifies that the operation for each job/production schedule contains a batch definition that matches the batch definition of the batched production, and that the operation is not included in any other batched production.
  • Batched productions are created with a status of Active.
  • A job of type 'A' (Batched Production) and batched production operations are automatically created.
  • Batch definition operations are automatically copied from the Batch Definition Operations form to the Batched Productions Operations form.

When you delete a batched production, the job created by the batched production is also deleted by a trigger.

You must remove jobs/production schedules from the Batched Productions form before you can delete a batched production, and you must delete all batched productions for a batch definition before you can delete the batch definition.

This form has these areas:

  • Batched Production: Add jobs/production schedules and an operation to the grid to add the jobs/production schedules to the batched production.
  • Operations: This read-only area lists the operations associated with the selected batch definition. The operations are defined on the Batched Production Operations form.
  • Printing: Maintain the pricing, cost, and production quantities for the selected operation.

Click Operations to open the Batched Production Operations form, where you define operations that use the batched production definitions.

Click Batch Definitions to open the Batch Definitions form, where you define batches.
