Current Operations

Use this form to maintain routing requirements and costing information for an item. In addition, you can create and maintain the list of resources required to perform an operation (for APS planning and for the Scheduler). You can then use this information as a template for the standard method of manufacturing the item (when you define the job operations and materials). When you delete the current operation, the system deletes the operation and all associated materials and material references.

Use the Standards area to maintain or view routing requirements for an item. Use the Resources area to maintain the list of resource groups, displayed in the order they were entered, that can work on this operation. An operation must specify at least one resource group. Use the Costs area to maintain cost rates of the operations.

Note:  The Standard Operations form maintains the costing information for the routing. If you want to update the costing information for the standard operation from the current operation information, you must run the Roll Current Cost to Standard Cost utility.

If the ECN Use for Current BOM/Routings inventory parameter is set to All, you cannot add or make changes to current operations.

The fields in the Resources area apply only to APS and the Scheduler.
