Work Center

On the Work Centers form, enter a unique number to identify the work center. Setting a work center to Labor or Machine Schedule affects the Current BOM Cost Rollup.

On the Operations and BOM Import Builder forms, select a valid work center where the operation is performed (for tracking costing of the operation). Selecting or changing the work center on the operation causes default information from that work center to be entered for the operation, including Schedule Driver, Finish hours, and any resource groups associated with the work center.

On the What If Operations form, specify the work center associated with the operation. When an item/warehouse specifies a sourcing rule based on this work center, only operations with the same work center are allowed to allocate the supply.

For forms where you cannot select this field, this field displays the work center for the current operation.

Note: Work centers are used only for costing. Planning and scheduling functions use the resources associated with the operation's resource group(s) when allocating crew, machines, fixtures, etc. to work on the operation.
