Use Fixed Schedule

Note: This field affects APS and the Scheduler only. Costing still requires the Setup Hrs and Run Hrs Per Unit value.

Select this field to use a fixed schedule time for the operation. When you select this field, the Scheduler Rule field changes to Fixed automatically. If you clear this field, Scheduler Rule changes to Per-Piece.

Then, in the Fixed Sched Hours field, you can enter the expected total amount of time for the operation. You usually use this option when experience tells you that the allocation of time for this operation is different than the implied setup and run time. Outside operations (operations that specify an outside work center) always use fixed schedule hours, regardless of whether the Use Fixed Schedule field is selected.

Clear the Use Fixed Schedule field if you want the system to calculate the total amount of time from Setup Hrs and the other operation run time values (as described in About Operation Run Time - Planning and Scheduling).
