Track Tax Free Imported Materials

Select this check box if you want to track inventory as a tax free imported material. Clear this check box if you do not want to track inventory as a tax free imported material.

By selecting this check box, you can track imported tax free materials that are used to build products that when completed are shipped back to the country of origin.

When you track tax free import materials, the system automatically selects Lot Tracking on the Inventory Parameters form. This in turn makes the Lot Track field on the Items form selected by default when you add a new item. You can clear the Lot Track field when adding new items. Parent items that contain tax free imported material, however, must use a current BOM and be lot tracked.

Note: Items that are tax-free imported materials must have a costing method of either FIFO or specific.
