Product Code

The product code groups items so similar items can have the same markup, G/L distribution accounts, and planning parameters. You can assign price markups and discounts by product code. You can also run a Sales Analysis Report by product code.

If you change a product code, one of two things happen:

• If you have permission to update Item stockroom accounts, a message displays asking whether you want to automatically update accounts and unit codes on the Item Stockroom Locations form when this record is saved. Select Yes or No to continue saving the record.
• If you do not have permission to update item stockroom accounts, a confirmation message displays and indicates that accounts for item stockroom locations must be changed manually.
