Post Material Issues

Caution: 
If either the Customer Order Credit Hold field or the Customer Credit Hold field is selected on the Customers form, the system does not allow material issues to be posted.

This field behaves differently on these forms:

  • Job Pick List form:
    • On the Job Pick List form, select Post Material Issues if you want the system to post material issue transactions for all materials of the selected job that have not been completely issued. The system will also print a report on what it issued. Do not select this option if you do not want to post any material issue transactions.
    • To issue material to the job using this option, you need to have sufficient quantity of that material on hand. If you do not have enough quantity on hand, the system does not warn you and it will not issue the material to the job.
    • If the Job Pick List is processed with Post Material Issues selected, any lot tracked or serial tracked item on any of the jobs being processed is skipped. You must manually select lot or serial tracked items from the Job Material Transactions form using the Serial Numbers tab.
    • If Post Material Issues is not selected, you can run the Pick List for lot and serial tracked items.
    • If you want to pick inventory in containers, this check box must be cleared.
      Note:  The system does not auto-issue material to rework orders when printing the job pick list. You must use the Job Material Transactions form to issue material to rework orders.

  • Generate Order Pick List form:
    • On the Generate Order Pick List form, select the Post Material Issues check box if you want to create automatically all possible shipping transactions for the orders (the quantity on hand for each line/release must be greater than zero). Do not select this check box if you do not want to create automatically shipping transactions for the orders.
    • If an item is lot or serial tracked, and the Post Material Issues check box is selected, the item will not be shipped. You must use the Order Shipping form to ship lot or serial tracked items. You can run the Order Pick List for both lot and serial tracked items if this check box is not selected.
    • If you want to pick inventory in containers, this check box must be cleared.
  • Transfer Order Ship Pick List form:
    • On the Transfer Order Ship Pick List form, if you do not want the system to create automatically all possible shipping transactions for this order, do not select Post Material Issues.
    • Select Post Material Issues if you want the system to create automatically all possible shipping transactions for this order. (The system will create shipping transactions for each line item that has a quantity on hand of greater than zero.)
    • If an item is lot or serial tracked, and the Post Material Issues check box is selected, the item will not be shipped. You must use the Transfer Order Ship form to ship lot or serial tracked items. You can run the Transfer Order Pick List for both lot and serial tracked items if this check box is not selected.
      Note:  The system posts the transactions using the base unit of measure from the Items form. However, it will print the quantities on the pick list using the transfer item's unit of measure.
