Plan Configured Orders Using Configured Jobs

Note: If the Use MRP Planning field is selected, on the MRP Mode form, this field is disabled.

This field controls how the APS planner plans configured orders that are cross-referenced to jobs, as well as stand-alone configured jobs.Deselect this field to create top-level jobs, along with their sub-jobs, with a Status of Firmed. APS neither plans supplies for these orders, nor updates the job and sub-job dates. When this field is deselected, existing jobs with a status of Configured are updated in these ways:

  • If Type is Job, Status is changed to Firm and the corresponding planner data is deleted.
  • If Type is Estimate, Status is changed to Working and the corresponding planner data is deleted.

Select this field to create top-level jobs, along with their sub-jobs, with a Status of Configured. APS plans the top-level order using the cross-referenced job, and it's sub-jobs, using the item's current BOM. The APS Planner creates planned supplies to satisfy the demands, and can update the planned supply dates to account few changes in demand or supply. When this field is selected, all jobs that are tied to a configured root job are updated in these ways:

  • If Type is Job and Status is Firm, Status is changed to Configured
  • If Type is Estimate and Status is Working or Planned, Status is changed to Configured
