Non-Nettable Stock

The Non-Nettable Stock field maintains the total amount of an item at all non-nettable stockroom locations. A flag on the Item Stockroom Locations form determines whether a location is non-nettable.

You cannot update the non-nettable stock quantity on this form. You can change this amount by accessing the Item Stockroom Locations form and performing a quantity adjustment or quantity move.

The system automatically updates this amount whenever you perform any of the following:

From PO:

  • Manual Receive/Return
  • Generate PO receiving list (with Post option)

From Shop Floor Control:

  • Post a job transaction for the last operation with quantity complete
  • Withdraw item from job
  • Posting production schedule complete transactions

From Inventory:

  • Move stock from a nettable location to a non-nettable location, or the reverse
  • After posting new quantities for a physical inventory or cycle count

If the non-nettable stock amount for an item is greater or less than zero, you cannot delete the item. Normally, the non-nettable stock quantity cannot go negative. If you want to allow quantities to go negative, select the On Hand Neg Flag on the Inventory Parameters form.

Note:  The On-hand field does not include the non-nettable stock quantity. In addition, MRP and APS do not consider non-nettable locations to be part of the On-hand amount.
