Material Cost

If the item is using Standard costing and is a purchased item, the landed cost buckets (material, freight, duty, brokerage, insurance and local freight) are totaled in the Material Cost field.

The system allows you to update this field if the following conditions exist:

• The item is using Actual (Average) costing.
• The item's cost type is Actual (all cost methods) and no transactions have been entered for the item.
• The item's cost type is Standard, the Source Code is set to Manufactured and no transactions have yet been entered for the item.
