Default Warehouse

The warehouse selected in this field is the primary warehouse. All other warehouses in your system are then considered secondary warehouses. You may set this field only to a warehouse that is defined for every item. The default value for this field is MAIN.

On the What If Planning Parameters form, you can specify a different default warehouse for the purpose of creating hypothetical planning scenarios.

Note: 
  • When you update this field, all users must log out and back in before the new value takes effect in the system.

  • When the MRP and APS systems search for on-hand inventory to satisfy a demand, they consider the combined total of all inventory at all warehouses (at a given site) in which the Dedicated Inventory field is not selected on the Warehouses form. They do not allocate inventory from any specific warehouse.

    A warehouse in which the Dedicated Inventory field is selected cannot be designated as the default warehouse on this form.
