Troubleshooting MRP

You may encounter error messages when running MRP Planning or performing related activities. Error messages for the MRP Planning activity appear on the Background Task History form. Other errors may appear in a message box when you save a record. You should be able to diagnose and fix these errors using the solutions described in this topic.

Error Message Explanation and Solution
At least one Item exists where Include In Net Change Generation is equal to Yes. In most cases, this error indicates that an item's low-level codes are set incorrectly. To find out which item has an incorrect low-level code, open the Items form and filter on the Net Change field. The item for which the Net Change field is selected has a low-level code problem in its BOM.

In some other cases, this error can accompany the other errors (described below) related to blank dates.

Due Date is (blank). A cross-referenced purchase requisition line item or PO line item has a blank Due Date.
End is (blank). A cross-referenced job has a blank End Date and Projected date.
Manufacturing Day that has [Date: month, day, year] does not exist. The projected due date for a requirement is earlier than the first manufacturing date (MDAY Start) in the MDAY calendar.
Sch Rcpt Date is (blank). A cross-referenced transfer order line item has a blank Receipt Date.
Unable to perform update, record has been deleted or modified by another user. Include In Net Change Generation is No for Item that has [item number]. When the system tried to set the Net Change field for an item (because a change had been made to its MRP requirements or receipts), another user had that item record locked. Run MRP Planning with the Regeneration option to update this item or select its Net Change field manually.
