Balance Debit/Credit
On the Journal Entries or Multi-FSB Journal Entries form, the debit and credit balances of the current journal entry are displayed after you click.
If this is a cancellation posting, as indicated by the selected Cancellation check box, then debit amount totals are tallied using the sum of positive and negative-signed debits, and credit amount totals are tallied using the sum of positive and negative-signed credits.
On the Journal Account Summary orMulti-FSB Journal Account Summary form, these fields show how far out of balance the journal is. An amount displays only in the debit column or the credit column, not both, depending on which amount is greater. For example, if the total of all the debit transactions is greater than the total of all the credit transactions, the difference displays in the debit column.
