Testing App Metadata Transport results

To verify that the data was imported successfully, use one of these options:

  • Open the XML file and manually compare the file to the resulting target database.
  • Run queries on the database.

To run queries on the database:

  1. Before you import the metadata, create a backup of the target database.
  2. Import the metadata.
  3. Restore the backup of the target database under a different name.
  4. Run queries that compare the original (pre-import) database to the updated (post-import) database to determine what was changed.
