Checking In Global Objects

When you check in a form or global object, the original version in the master database is replaced with the edited version from the run-time database. This action effectively makes the changed object the official current version.

Note: You can check in an object only if you are the one who checked it out. Likewise, other developers cannot perform operations on objects you have checked out.

To check in a global object:

Open the Form Control form.
In the Actions group box, click Check in.
Select the My Checked Out Objects tab.
In the Display/select my checked out objects group box, click Display List.
The system displays a list of all the objects and forms you have checked out. This information is displayed for each object:
- The type of object
- The name of the object
- The value, if any, that the object has in the master database
- The value, if any, that the object has in the run-time database
Note: This list does not indicate what templates, if any, you have checked out. Forms and global objects that you have created are displayed in this list only if you selected Enforce strict locking of forms and objects in the User Preferences form, and you select Include Newly Created on this tab.
Perform one of these actions:
- To check in all objects you have checked out, click Select All.
- To check in only new objects that you have created, click Select New .
- To check in only selected objects, in the Inc column, select the check box for each object you want to check in.
Optionally, to keep the objects checked out (that is, locked) for further development, select the Keep object checked out option.

Use this option when you want to check in an "interim" version of the object but continue working on it.
Click Execute Action.
When prompted, click OK.
Optionally, In the Source Control Comment dialog box, specify a comment and then click Attach Comment.

If you do not want to specify a comment, click No Comment.
