Changing the wildcard character

  1. From the View menu, select User Preferences.
  2. Click the Runtime Behaviors tab.
  3. In the Wildcard character field, specify the new character you want to use as the wildcard character.
  4. Click OK.

It is best to use a character that you are not likely ever to need in a data field. Good possible candidates include the tilde character (~), the circumflex character (^), and the grave accent character (`).
