Backing up databases

Synchronization can make numerous significant updates and deletions in the Target forms database, which contains your customizations. For this reason, we strongly recommend that you back up the forms database in the Target configuration before you perform any synchronization activities.

The FormSync Copy utility commits customizations to the forms database in the Target configuration. This utility can overwrite existing customizations. Therefore, before copying customizations, make sure you back up the Target forms database.

The Deletion utility removes customizations from the forms database in the Source configuration. Therefore, before deleting customizations, make sure you back up the Source forms database.
