The Log Monitor data display

The Log Monitor collects and displays data about the activity of designated applications and configurations. You typically use this data to test and troubleshoot form and application operations.

This table lists and describes the data that is displayed in the Log Monitor:

Column/Field Description
Time or Time Stamp This field indicates date and time the log message was generated.
Type This field indicates the log entry type:
  • If this column is blank, it indicates that the data is not associated with any specific type.
  • General - Messages that do not specifically fall into one of the other categories.
  • Trace - Detailed diagnostic information.
  • Audit - High-level, low-detail, diagnostic information.
  • SQL - Information about SQL Server interactions.
  • Error - Diagnostic messages generated by exceptions or invalid conditions.
  • Performance - Messages containing performance information.
  • Security - Messages related to security such as user authentication.
Source This field indicates the name of the application or module that generated the message.
Message This field cites the text of the message.
