Adding a Graph component

Note:  This topic applies to the graphing tool, which is supported for backward compatibility.  We recommend that, if you want to add charts or gauges to a form, use the newer FusionCharts tool instead. For more information, see About charts and gauges.

To add a Graph component to a form:

  1. Open a form and go into Design mode.
  2. In the Toolbar, click Graph, and then draw the component on the form.
  3. On the Component property sheet, click Binding, and then click the ellipsis (...) button.
  4. In the Type field of the Edit Component Data Binding dialog box, select Graph Element.
  5. Click Edit.
  6. In the Specify Graph Settings dialog box, specify attributes for the graph component, including these:
    • To bind the graph to a collection, select an IDO in the Collection field. To specify which collection properties to graph, select a property in the Available Properties list, and then click Add.
    • Specify titles in the Title, X Axis Title, and Y Axis Title fields.
    • A legend indicates which colors are used for which properties in the graph. To create a legend, select a property in the Available Properties list, and then click Add. By default, the name of the property is displayed in the legend. To edit the displayed name, click Edit.
  7. To adjust the display of the legend and other axis-related settings, click More , which opens the Additional Graph Settings dialog box.
  8. Click OK as needed to return to the form.
