Changing the Design View Size

It is possible that the FlexLayout region for a Report type form to stretch beyond the bottom of the form. This does not mean that the report is actually longer than the form, just that all of the regions combined are longer than the form itself.

In this situation, you can change the size of the design surface for the report, without having to change the defined form size.

To change the size of the design surface:

If you are not already in Tabbed Form Layout mode, change your User Preferences setting to that mode.
Open your Report type form and go into Design Mode.
Move to the bottom of the form and right-click on the design surface outside the actual form area.
Click Design View Size.
When the Design View Size dialog box opens, it displays the Form dimensions and the View dimensions as the same.
Increase the Width setting, the Height setting, or both to the dimensions you need to have for the design surface.
Click OK.

The design surface now displays at the size specified. If the design surface extends beyond the screen size, scrollbars display, so you can still move around on the form.

When you are finished designing the report, if you want to return the design surface to its original dimensions, repeat this procedure, but in Step 5, click Revert.
