Use this page to activate and manage generally available features in a tenant. Feature flags control the availability of product enhancements in CloudSuite Distribution (CSD). Features associated with the current application version and the previous versions are displayed on this screen. By default, new features are added with the Inactive status, and the most recent features are displayed first in the list.

The General Release Features grid displays the feature information in these columns:

  • Feature: The Jira number associated with the enhancement. For example, SXWEB-12345.
  • Description: A description of the feature and associated functionality.

  • Active: Indicates whether the feature is active.

    Note: By default, new feature records are added as inactive. Existing feature records are not changed during the upgrade process.
  • General Release: The application release version in which the feature is available.
  • Depends On: The Jira number of the feature on which the current feature depends. If the current feature depends on multiple features, the Jira numbers are displayed as a comma-separated list.

  • Feature Dependencies: Indicates dependency relationships between features. An information icon is displayed in this column, if:

    • The current feature depends on other feature(s).
    • Other feature(s) depend on the current feature.
    Note: The Feature Dependencies column name is displayed in a tooltip when you hover over the column header.

You can perform these actions in the grid:

  • View the available features for the current and previous application versions.

    Note: Features associated with future application versions can only be activated by the Infor Support Team on request.
  • Use the Search field in the grid to filter features based on feature identifiers, descriptions, release version, and dependency information.
  • Select the Active check box to activate or inactivate a feature.
  • Personalize the grid columns.
  • Export selected feature information to an Excel file.

Feature flag information is synchronized with the Data Lake through the featureflag database table.

Feature activation for dependent features

If a feature depends on another feature, the required feature must be active before the current feature can be activated.

For example, feature A depends on feature B. The Jira number for feature B is displayed in the Depends On column for feature A. An information icon is displayed in the first column (Feature Dependencies) of both the features. You can hover over the information icon of both the features to view this information in a tooltip:

  • Feature A: Depends on 1 feature.
  • Feature B: 1 feature depends on this.

You must activate feature B before activating feature A in this scenario. If you activate feature A without activating feature B, this error message is displayed:

This feature cannot be activated because it depends on the following feature(s) that are not yet active: SXWEB-<xxxxx>

During the deactivation process, you must deactivate feature A before deactivating feature B.

If you attempt to deactivate feature B while feature A remains active, this error message is displayed:

This feature cannot be inactivated because the following active feature(s) depend on it: SXWEB-<xxxxx>
