Picking by zone

Use picking by zone if your warehouse was set up by zones to organize products and to facilitate picking.

  1. Select Order Picking from the RF Main Menu.
  2. Select Pick Options.
  3. Select Zone.
  4. Specify the pallet ID on the truck for this picking task, if you are using a truck. Otherwise, press Enter through the Truck Pallet field.
    If you have been assigned to a zone, specify the zone and press Enter. To view a list of all zones, press Enter and select Yes to view all zones. Scroll through the list and select the zone to pick.
  5. Click Yes on the Sort by Order? confirmation window that is displayed, to sort order lines, first by order within a zone, and later by zone. You can click No to sort the orders only by zone.
    Note: The confirmation window is displayed if the Parameter 7520 (Sort By-Order in Addition to Sort By-Zone) is set to Yes by the TWL administrator.
  6. Scroll to the right to view this information:
    • Zone
    • Aisle
    • Location
    • Item
    • Description
    • Quantity
    • Unit of measure
    • Pick ID, internal tracking number
    • Order number
    • Suffix
    • Pallet
  7. Select a line item and press Enter.
  8. Scan or specify the picking location, the product number, and the quantity picked.
    • If a lot number was assigned to the line item, press F6 and the up arrow. Then scroll to the right to view the lot number. You can also view the available lengths in the lot, if applicable.
    • After the quantity is specified, the Add Line Comment window is displayed, if the Line Comment Required check box is selected for the product on the Product Warehouse Product Setup - Warehouse Logistics screen.
  9. Specify a line comment for the product.
    Note: Parameter 7522 (Require Line Notes) determines whether the line comment is mandatory.
  10. Click OK. The line comment is added to the first order of the zone and is printed on the packing slip.
  11. Scan the pallet or tote ID, if you are in a pick-to-tote warehouse. If the warehouse is pick-to-pack, scan the carton ID.
