Unit

Select a unit of measure for the tank. Bulk delivery or pickup units of measure are set up in SA Table Code Value Setup-Bulk Delivery Unit.

Unusable Capacity

Specify the amount of bulk product in the tank that cannot be extracted or pumped out of the tank. This is used by BD Administrator Tank Calculation Report to determine usage. Specify the amount in the same unit of measure as defined in the Unit field.

Ordering

Line Point/Maximum

This amount is automatically calculated by BD Administrator Tank Calculations Report. It cannot be manually set. Line Point/Maximum is calculated as:

Order Point/Minimum + Lead Time Demand

Line Point is not calculated for Will Call or Empty Will Call tanks, as no Delivery Due Date or Pickup Due Date is calculated for this tank type.

Order Point/Minimum

The lowest quantity you should have available for sales and transfers. Order Point/Minimum is calculated by BD Administrator Tank Calculations Report after determining these values:

  • Projected Lead Time: Delivery Due Date - Current Date
  • Lead Time Demand: Daily Usage * Projected Lead Time

Order Point/Minimum = Lead Time Demand + Safety Allowance

Order Point is not calculated for Will Call or Empty Will Call tanks, as no Delivery Due Date or Pickup Due Date is calculated for this tank type.

Safety Allowance

The safety allowance is also called safety stock.

For Fill service types, this value is additional bulk stock that you use as a buffer during calculations to prevent a tank from going empty due to higher than expected daily usage. The safety allowance directly affects the order point. You must manually specify a safety allowance amount or percent. It is not calculated during BD Administrator Tank Calculations Report.

For Empty service types, this value indicates the safe stock level at which the BD tank must be emptied. To ensure timely pickups before the tank reaches full capacity, this value must be less than the Tank Size value.

Safety Type

Select a type for the Safety Allowance, either Quantity or Percent.
