Creating lot cut pieces manually

If you manually create a new lot in Product Extended Lot Number Setup, you should manually create cut pieces to match the available quantity entered. When new cut pieces are created manually, the On Hand and Net Available balances in Product Warehouse Product Setup and the available quantity for the lot are not updated.

Note: You can make manual stock adjustments for OE Linear Cut products in Sales Linear Cut Maintenance Entry or Product Adjustment Entry. We recommend that you use Sales Linear Cut Maintenance Entry because it provides greater control over length adjustment to accurately reflect what is in inventory.

Use these steps to create lot cut pieces for products that currently exist in inventory:

  1. Select Product > Setup > Extended Lot Number.
  2. Drill down to the lot.
  3. Access the Cuts tab.
  4. Click New above the grid.
  5. Specify these values:
    Number of Pieces
    Specify the number of cut pieces to create.
    Condition Code
    Specify a condition code for the cut piece or pieces.
    Length
    Specify the length of the cut piece or pieces.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Click Save.
