Staging locations in TWL
You can stage a tote, carton, pallet, or shipping pallet to and from a staging location from any screen on the RF.
- From the RF, press F7 to access the staging location function.
-
Select Yes to perform Inbound (Receiving) staging or
No to perform Outbound (Shipping Container)
staging.
Note: The Outbound (Shipping) screen is displayed directly if the Inbound Staging Location is not defined in the system.
- In the Staging Loc Movement screen, the last container you worked with in receiving, picking, packing, or shipping is initially the default value in the screen. Accept the default container or scan a new container ID. The current containers staged for the same customer are displayed after you press Enter.
- In Stage Outbound, if you scan a container that is already in a staging location, you can specify a different location. This action moves the container from one staging location to another.
- Scan the staging location in which you are placing the container. If you press Enter on a blank field, a list of valid staging locations is displayed.
- To inquire on a staging location, or retrieve a container from a staging location, press F8. You can access the staging location inquiry from any screen on the RF.
-
In Staging Loc Inquiry, scan the container or location and
press Enter.
If you scan a container ID, the cursor is displayed in the Retrieve field instead of the browse. This selection streamlines the processing because you already identified a container. If the staging location contains products, they are displayed on the Staging Loc Retrieve screen.
- You can also sequentially specify values for all inquiry fields above the Retrieve checkbox such as order number, customer, ship-to location, and carrier, or leave any field blank. Leave the field blank to look at all values for that field. However, a partial or invalid entry cannot find any matching criteria in the staging file.
- To retrieve the container, press the space and the Retrieve field is set to checked.
- Press enter or tab to switch and specify the next field values.
