Context widgets and context applications in Infor OS Portal and Infor Ming.le

Context and utility applications and context widgets are gadgets or mini applications that provide information at a glance and access to frequently used tools. You use these applications and widgets in Infor OS Portal or Infor Ming.le to create and maintain notes, create and maintain contacts, and view and print reports and other documents. Context applications are used in Infor Ming.le and context widgets are used in Infor OS Portal.

To access the context applications and context widgets, you must expand the Context Apps panel in the Infor Ming.le menu bar or the widget workspace in Infor OS Portal. If a context application or context widget within the collapsed panel requires attention, a notification dot is displayed on the collapse/expand icon for the panel. The state of the panel is retained from session to session. If it was closed when you last signed out, it is closed the next time you sign in.

You must expand each context application or context widget to access information. If a context application or context widget does not contain information, you cannot use the context application or context widget in the current function. For example, you cannot add a note to an order you select in search results grid of Sales Order Inquiry. If you open the order, you can add notes in other views, such as Header, Line Detail, or Line History.

A context application or context widget might be unavailable if it does not pertain to the current function. For example, the Tiers and Preferences application is only available in Sales Order Entry.
