VA Product Default Setup - Line Items - Labor Product overview

Value Add > Setup > Product Default

Use this window to set up or review the labor product, labor charges, and labor flat rate information.

To access this window, select a labor product line item and then select Labor Product Information from the More... menu. This labor information defaults into the Extend window. TheLabor Product window is available for labor product lines in external, internal, or inspection sections only.

Labor product information for external labor line items

The Labor Minimum Charge field allows you to specify the minimum labor charge for the selected external labor product. This value is considered in the calculation of net amount when a line item is added to a Value Add order on the Value Add Order Entry screen.

Note: To view the Labor Minimum Charge field, you must select the Use Labor Minimum Charge checkbox on the SA Administrator Options - Documents - Value Add - Entry Settings screen.

The labor minimum charge is applicable for a line item when these conditions are met:

  • The item is an external labor item defined on the VA Product Defaults Setup screen.
  • The value specified in the Labor Minimum Charge field is greater than zero.
  • The value specified in the Labor Minimum Charge field is greater than the calculated net amount based on the Charge Method such as Quantity, Weight, or Cube.
  • The Flat Rate checkbox is not selected.

The labor minimum charge is not applicable for a line item when:

  • External labor items are manually added to a Value Add order.
  • Backorders are created for a Value Add order.

When you create a new version of an existing VASP record, the Labor Minimum Charge field value is copied to the new version.

On the VA Product Defaults Setup Maintenance screen, you can view the usage information of labor minimum charge in the Labor Data column on these tabs:

  • The Additional Details section on the Sections tab.
  • The Line Items tab.
