Lost business

If the requested quantity of a line item cannot be filled and you do not to create a back order for the unavailable quantity, it is recorded as lost business.

You are not required to specify a lost business reason for Storeroom, but it is required in Distribution SX.e if Require Lost Business Reason in SA Administrator Options-Documents-Sales Orders-Entry Settings is selected. Your system administrator can set up a business rule to apply the correct lost business reason on the order.

If a line was sent to lost business, you can view the line on these tabs in Sales Order Inquiry:

  • Line Detail: Select Show Inactive Lines to show the line that was sent to lost business. 'L/B' is displayed in the Non-Stock column.
  • Line History: 'Lost Business' is displayed in the Non-Stock column.
