Serial-controlled and lot-controlled products

Controlled products are assigned a serial or lot number so that they can be tracked in Storeroom and Distribution SX.e. You can indicate if a product is serial- or lot-controlled in Product Warehouse Product Setup-General. When the product is serial-controlled, you must specify when the serial number is assigned to the product. You can set up the company-level default for serial assignment in SA Administrator Options. You can override the company-level default for products in Product Warehouse Product Setup-General.

In SA Administrator Options, you can also require serial number assignment on non-direct warehouse transfers. Serial number assignment is then required, regardless of the serial number assignment requirements for each product. This setting affects the standard processing of serial-controlled products that are normally assigned serial numbers at sale.

Serial and lot numbers are listed on pick tickets and can be included on reports. Any changes that are made to serial or lot numbers in one application automatically update the other application through SX.API calls.
