Adjusting expected quantities

You can print count sheets or tickets several days before you perform a physical count. Prior to the count, you can perform these tasks:

  • Schedule resources
  • Assign duties
  • Organize the tasks
  • Check locations
  • Tag products

After you print the count sheets or tickets, orders are filled and invoiced, inventory is received, and warehouse transfers are processed. The expected quantity that was calculated is incorrect because you posted transactions after you printed the count sheets or tickets.

To update the expected quantities without resetting or reprinting the count sheets or tickets, run the Product Entry Count Quantity Recalculation Report before you run the Product Count Entry. Otherwise, you must make manual adjustments in Product Count Entry to compensate for the transactions that were posted after you printed the count sheets or tickets.

Note:  If you encounter errors when you run the Product Entry Count Update Report, run the Product Entry Count Quantity Recalculation Report to update the expected quantity, then rerun the Product Entry Count Update Report.
