Smart transfer rounding

In Transfer Entry, or when Transfer Entry Recommended Replenishment Action Report is run, quantities can be rounded to the buying unit or transfer unit based on parameters set up in Product Replenishment Setup-Rounding. Set these parameters to transfer quantities that are economically feasible based on the product’s usage and the cost difference for rounding. If the cost difference that is required to round up to a transfer or buying unit is less than the unit cost maximum, the quantity is rounded up.

Specifically, smart transfer rounding occurs if you meet these conditions:

• Select Smart Unit in either Transfer Unit Rounding or Buying Unit Rounding fields in Product Replenishment Setup-Rounding.
• A buying or transfer unit of measure is set up on the Product Warehouse Product Setup record for the shipping warehouse.

Smart transfer rounding limits rounding to a specified month’s supply to ensure that you do not replenish more than the warehouse can use. Smart transfer rounding also prevents you from splitting a unit, or vendor package, if splitting is not feasible.
