WM bin replenishment
Use the WM Entry Replenish Primary Bins Report to perform replenishment action for WM Bin Location and Product Setup primary bins in service. Run this report for bins that are below minimum, or are likely to go below minimum because of reserved quantities. If the product is not available to replenish the bin, the bin does not show on the report. If an insufficient quantity exists, only the available product data shows. If Only Where Quantity On Hand is Less Than Zero is Yes, the report disregards the minimum quantity and only looks at balances below zero.
Destination bin selection
This calculation in Warehouse Manager determines whether a primary bin needs to be replenished:
- On Hand + Received - Committed - Product Warehouse Product Setup Reserved
The Committed value in the calculation is affected by the Count Committed Stock as Available Space in SA Administrator Options-Products-Warehouse Manager.
If the calculation is less than the minimum quantity in WM Bin Location and Product Setup, replenishment is recommended to bring the location up to the maximum quantity. If the Check Open Orders option in the report is Yes, the amount required to cover the outstanding orders is added to the recommended quantity.
Source bin selection
Alternate and open locations are used to fill the primary location based on FIFO dates. If the Attempt Single Bin Pick option in SA Administrator Options-Products-Warehouse Manager is Yes, an attempt to find the quantity needed from one bin is made. If the quantity that is required is less than the quantity that is available, the quantity is taken from one source bin.
Rounding
The quantity recommended to restock the primary bin is rounded, based on the WM Entry Replenish Primary Bins Report selections. Quantities are pulled from the source bin in whole units. The whole units are based on the bin unit type set up in SA Table Code Value Setup. If a bin does not contain an entire bin unit, it is not included on the report as a recommended source.
If the bin unit is a standard pack, but a standard pack unit is not specified on the Product Warehouse Product Setup record, the buying unit on the warehouse product record is used. If a buying unit is not specified, the stocking unit from the Product Setup record is used. If a stocking unit is not specified, a one-to-one conversion is used.
If the bin unit is the buying unit, but a buying unit is not set up on the warehouse product record, the stocking unit from the product record is used. If a stocking unit is not specified, a one-to-one conversion is used.
After you run and review the WM Entry Replenish Primary Bins Report, you can move product. Note any differences between actual product movement and the report. You can also run WM Accept/Review Replenishment Entry to accept WM transaction records created by the WM Entry Replenish Primary Bins Report in report or commit modes. To change quantities and update WM Bin Location and Product Setup records, you can maintain WM transaction records for source and destination bins created in the WM Entry Replenish Primary Bins Report. If Delete Transactions When Complete in SA Administrator Options-Products-Warehouse Manager is No, you can create these WM transaction records:
- In the commit mode, you can create Stage 1 (Entered) records
- In the perform mode, you can create Stage 4 (Finished) records
If Delete Transactions When Complete is Yes, and the report is generated in perform mode, the WM Bin Location and Product Setup records are updated.
WM Accept/Review Replenishment Entry is sorted in bin location order to facilitate the acceptance process.
