Allocating cuts for the non-lot product

Use this procedure to allocate the cuts for the non-lot products displayed on the Cut Allocation Entry window:

  1. Click the drill down icon on an order line of a non-lot product to view the details screen wherein, you can view these details:
    • Product name
    • Description
    • Quantity ordered (in terms of length)
  2. Specify this information:
    Number of Pieces
Specify the number of pieces in which the product must be cut.
    Length
Specify the length of each piece in feet and inches. The length and dimension preferences for the cuts are defined in the Cut tab of Product Setup screen in Distribution SX.e.
Note: When you specify the number of pieces and length, the calculated value must not exceed the Quantity Ordered or must be within the tolerance value defined on the SA Administrator Options in Distribution SX.e.
  3. Click Continue to view the Product Cut screen wherein you can view the available quantity along with the number of pieces and length, as specified in the details screen.
  4. Specify this information:
    Cut
Specify the number of cuts to be allocated.
    Quantity Returned

The quantity that is returned. The formula to calculate this value:

Quantity Returned = Available Quantity - (Cut * Length)
Note: This value is updated based on the number of cuts specified in the Cut field. However, you can also modify this field.
    Quantity Scrapped

The quantity that is scrapped. The formula to calculate this value:

Quantity Scrapped = Available Quantity - (Cut * Length) - Quantity Returned
Note: This value is updated based on the number of cuts and quantity returned. Modifying this value results in cut loss, which is considered as the remaining quantity of products after the recalculation.
  5. Click Save to return to the Cut Allocation Entry screen. The Cut check box is set to checked for the non-lot product in the Lines grid.
    • You cannot allocate the cut for the order line with the Cut check box selected.
    • If there is cut loss while saving the data, the Open Journal window is displayed wherein you must specify the details and click OK. The updated cut loss details can be viewed on the Journal Inquiry screen of Distribution SX.e.
