Value Add Sections

You must set up the sections in SA Table Code Value Setup before you can create a section for a VA order or you can set up product defaults in VA Product Default Setup.  

Section Type	Code	Description
Specification	SP	Used to describe the process required to fabricate the item or includes special instructions to facilitate the downstream tasks. You can print the instructions and include them on the VA order for external, internal, or both types of fabrication processes.
External process	EX	Used if an outside service provider fabricates the components into a finished product. You can send the components to a single service provider or many service providers for processing.
Internal process	IT	Used to designate the internal service department (warehouse) where processing is performed.
Inventory components	IN	Contains a list of components needed to build the finished product. You can send components to an external service provider or to an internal fabrication department.
Inventory in	II	Allows you to bring components back into inventory when they are not used in the fabrication process (surplus). Receiving a purchase order that is tied to a VA order from an external service provider or internal fabrication department prompts for the creation of an inventory in (II) section.
Inspection	IS	Specifies where the product (either finished or intermediate) should be sent for inspection.
