Recording labor cost for VA orders

The time spent fabricating the product by employees in your internal processing and inspection departments is recorded in VA Add Internal Labor Time Entry. Employees working on the product can enter their time using these instructions.

  1. Select Value Add > Entry > Internal Labor Time.
  2. Click New to create a labor cost record.
  3. Specify the operator for whom you are entering, the VA order number, and sequence number to which to charge the time.

The VA section must be an internal processing (IT) or inspection (IS) section type.

  4. The first labor record's product number and charges display. If this is not the desired product, specify the labor product code for the time that is being entered.

The product code must be set up as a labor product in Product Setup.

  5. Specify the hours and the minutes worked.
  6. Verify the charge per hour.

The default value for the Charge/Hour field is the base price value from the Product Warehouse Product Setup; you can override it.

  7. Specify the date the work was performed.
  8. Optionally, specify a description of the time spent or work done in the Comment field.
  9. Save the labor details.
  10. Repeat steps 3-9 to create additional time entry records.
  11. If time entry is complete and you want to close the section, click Save.
  12. To complete all the sections shown in the browser, select Update All Displayed VA Orders. Click Complete Section. Each section is reviewed to determine if there are errors that prevent further processing. If the edit checks are passed, the VA section is set to stage 5 - Shipped. After all selected records have been processed and at least one has moved to stage 5, the Value Add Section Completion window appears.
  13. Verify the settings and click OK.
