Defining VA assembly product variable labor

  1. Select Value Add > Setup > Product Default.
  2. Select the assembly product.
  3. Add a labor component section.
  4. In the Labor Product field, specify a labor item.
  5. In the Charge field, specify the charge. The charge applies to each unit of length from the length component.
  6. In the Estimated Time, specify the expected length of time for the labor.
  7. In the Time Type field, select Variable.
  8. In the Max Qty to Calculate Labor field, specify the maximum number of finished products for which to charge labor. Specify 0 (zero) if there is no labor charge cap.
  9. Select Is Time Based on Units Produced if you want the finished product quantity to control the labor charge for each finished assembly. Clear this check box to apply the labor as a single charge against the entire work order.
  10. Save your entries.
