Value Add products

Value added services can take on numerous forms such as product knowledge/services, packaging, customer required additions, or additional product refinement or finishing. You may have an in-house process to perform these services or use an external service vendor. With the Value Add module, you can track the work-in-process inventory and the time and cost of labor to produce the finished product.

You can initiate the fabrication of a product from a customer order. In Sales Order Entry, if you specify a Value Add product and no stock is currently in inventory, you can specify the fabrication on the OE Entry Transactions PO/WT Interface window. A note may have been attached to the product to alert you the product is a Value Add product that requires fabrication. The Value Add transaction is tied to the sales order. After the product is fabricated, it is returned to the warehouse or sent directly to the customer.

If a Value Add order that is tied to a sales order is placed on hold, you can release it from the Sales Order Transaction Entry Header window by specifying Y (yes) in the Approve field. The approval code is updated on Value Add orders with a stage less than 5 (Received). If a sales order is placed on credit hold due to lines being added to the order, any tied Value Add orders for previous lines also goes on hold, as long as the original approval types on the Sales Order Entry and Value Add orders match.
