VA order stages

A Value Add (VA) order goes through stages as it is processed. In addition to the order progressing through stages, sections within the order have stages of their own. Order stages refer to the overall status of the order and the section stages refer to the status of the product fabrication.

A VA transaction can have the following stages:

  • Entered (stage 0)
  • Ordered (stage 1)
  • Printed (stage 3)
  • Received (stage 5)
  • Closed (stage 7)
  • Canceled (stage 9)

Entered (stage 0) stage is applicable to a VA quote. A VA quote can be created to assist you in determining the cost of the finished product so you can assign a price to it. A VA order (other than a quote) is ordered (stage 1) stage when it is created. The order moves to printed (stage 3) stage when the pick ticket is printed and to received (stage 5) stage when the finished product is received.

In addition, all sections, except specifications and instructions, have stages.

  • Open (stage 1)
  • Printed (stage 3)
  • Shipped (stage 5)
  • Completed (stage 7)
  • Paid (stage 8) (External Process Only)
  • Canceled (stage 9)

A section is open (stage 1)stage when it is entered. It moves to printed (stage 3) stage when a pick ticket is printed. The section is moves to shipped (stage 5) stage in VA Shipping Entry. When you update VA Shipping Entry by clicking Final Update, the section moves to completed (stage 7) stage. When an IN section reaches the completed stage, you can no longer add line items to the IN section. If you attempt to add a line to a completed IN section, this message is displayed:

This Value Add Order/Section/Line Is Complete and Cannot Be processed

Finally, for external processes, the section moves to paid (stage 8) stage when the invoice is paid.
