Ordering a preset assembly-type item

In the Product field, specify the primary part number.

On the Configuration Assembly Information window, specify the product length, the quantity to build (the order quantity), and the assembly warehouse.

Click Continue.

Note: The system validates the component part numbers to confirm that the item can be fabricated, using these values to calculate the actual length of the variable length components: the order entry length, the order quantity set up for variable length components and the scrap factor set up in VA Product Default Setup, and the cutoff length from Product Setup. This calculation is used to update the quantity needed on the VA order.

Continue order processing following the normal order entry process.

Note: A work order is created and processed for the product using the standard workflow processing. Pricing for the item uses the standard VA pricing. You can override the price on the Value Add Rollup window if you are authorized to see and modify pricing based on the OE Pricing option security settings in SA Operator Setup.
