Product Recommender context applications

When you specify a customer and product in Sales Order Entry or Sales Customer Product Inquiry, these context applications display ranked product recommendations:

• ProductRecommender(UpSell)

  Products with availability in the selected warehouse that are similar to the specified product are displayed. They are not necessarily higher-priced products, but instead alternate products to provide customers with options. For example, if the specified product was a rubber bicycle tube with a specific valve, recommended upsell products might include a latex tube with the same valve or a rubber tube with a different valve.

  Note: Do not reorder (DNR) products with available stock quantity qualify for recommendation, but DNR products with negative or zero stock quantity can be excluded from recommendation. The calculation used to determine stock quantity is On Hand - Committed - Reserved. Your system administrator must implement the restriction.

  When you use the upsell context application during advanced line entry in Sales Order Entry, a drop-down list is available. It shows products that you have entered in the Product field. When you select a product from the list, the recommendations for that product are displayed. The product description from Product Setup is included with each product in the list.

• ProductRecommender(CrossSell)

  Products with availability in the selected warehouse that similar customers have purchased in addition to the specified product are displayed. A customer is similar to the selected customer if they have purchased common products. Using the bicycle tube example, recommended cross-sell products might include a valve extender or an air pump.

Both context applications list the names of up to 10 recommended products, their Product Setup product description 1 and 2, the price, and product availability. The recommended products are informational only. If your customer agrees to purchase an up-sell or cross-sell product, you can add the product to the sales order in Sales Order Entry and Sales Customer Product Inquiry by clicking on the product in the context application window.

The Product Recommender context applications are only available if Distribution SX.e is integrated with Infor Coleman AI Platform and the context applications are configured.
