SA Business Rule Setup field descriptions
The fields are listed alphabetically within each section.
Search
- Category

Specify a category to show only business rules created for a specific category. Select Show All to show all business rules, regardless of category.
- Direction

Select Inbound or Outbound to limit the search results. Select Show All to show all business rules, regardless of direction.
- Document Handler

Specify a Document Handler program to limit the search results to a specific process type, such as edi or sxapi.
- Level

Select a level to limit the search results to rules assigned to a specific level.
- Node Name

The node name is case sensitive. If you search for a business rule with a specific node name, ensure the you specify the appropriate upper and lower case letters.
- Rule

Select a specific rule to limit the search results. The rule descriptions are predefined for most templates.
Global/Company
- Company

If the rule was created for a specific company, the company is displayed.
- Company Wide

This option is displayed if the rule was created for a specific company.
- Global
-
This option is displayed if the business rule was created as a cross-company rule.
Trading Partner
- Customer or Vendor

The customer or vendor number displays if the business rule was created for a transaction exchanged with a specific customer or vendor.
Rule
- Attribute Name

The attribute is a value used by the business rule and is specified in the template in SA Table Code Value Setup-Business Rule. Attribute names are not used with business rules set up for Electronic Transaction Control Center.
- Direction

The direction defined in the business rules template is selected.
- Document Handler

The process type for the business rule, for example, config, edi, or sxapi, etc.
- Node Name

The node name is a case sensitive value from the business rule template.
- Rule Type

The rule type from the business rule template is displayed.
- Rule Value

Each business rule has different valid values, most often this is Yes or No. The valid values are usually described in the Extended Description for each predefined template. When you later define specific rules based on this template, you can change the value.
Extended Description
The extended description from the business rules template is displayed. You can modify it, if necessary.
- Category

The category is defined in SA Table Code Value Setup-Business Rule to further describe types of rules, so you can better filter the different business rules when defining them in SA Business Rule Setup. It cannot be changed. Multiple categories are separated by a comma.
